Cement Composition
Portland cement and concrete

• Portland cement consist of clinker, gypsum and other mineral component.
• For the manufacturing of clinker four major compounds are required Lime, Silica, Iron and Alumina.
• Lime obtained from limestone and others obtained from suitable correctives.
• Mixture of these compounds as a natural mineral resource is obtained from our own quarry at Aruwakkalu.
• Physical appearance of the cement may vary due to the minor element of the natural mineral source, which has no relationship with the strength of the cement.

Concrete
Supiri ideal for concrete

• Concrete is the main application base for cement.
• Our Supiri is specially designed for concrete.
• In general slow hardening cement are used in concrete to prevent thermal cracks and superior finish. If not control measures are required to control the setting and hardening properties.
• For best results not only cement but need to select and control other constituents like optimum water content, appropriate aggregates, suitable design etc.
• In general drinking water or potable water is suitable for concrete and water content is controlled in application by a test called slump test.
• When selecting the aggregates purity is one of the vital criteria
• Other parameters of the aggregates which influence the end results of the concrete are average particle size, shape, surface texture, hardness etc.,
