Social responsibility

Holcim recognizes the importance of social responsibility as a part of its overall commitment to sustainable development. Therein, we perform the following activities:

• Maintain a community mini-hospital to provide medical services
• Receive proposals from premium dealers and local communities
• Shortlist and finalization of award recipients, donations, press releases, Workers' Provident Fund
• Community training, business development schools, language education

Current Projects:

• An effort towards poverty alleviation in Sri Lanka in collaboration with Ceylinco Grameer Micro Credit Finance Programme
• Help to save the endangered species of the Wilpattu Natural Park, the home of the Sri Lankan leopard
• Safety awareness among children at Palavi and supporting school children in the Puttalam area, and collaboration with Child Vision in Organizing a children's day in Puttalam.
• Safety teams in neighboring villages
• Collaboration with ADB in Puttalam Water Supply Project
